Robin Townley to step down as ABTT CEO
12 October 2023
After 10 years in his current role, Robin Townley has announced that he will step down as Chief Executive Officer of the ABTT in June 2024.
A message from Robin Townley:
“After what will be just over a decade as ABTT CEO, it feels that next June, after the forty-fourth ABTT Theatre Show, is the right time for me to move on. I look forward to the next nine months with the Association. It is a pleasure and a privilege to serve this organisation and although it is too early for farewells, I shall always cherish and be grateful for the chance to have supported the ABTT, its membership and supporters, through an exciting and challenging period.”
Mig Burgess-Walsh and David Evans, ABTT Co-Chairs, comment:
“To think about the ABTT without Robin is strange, he has been so involved with the organisation and always hugely supportive, encouraging both of us and most of the current and recent past trustees. There is already an air of sadness at the news of Robin’s departure and this is testament to his commitment and legacy as he has steered the Association for 10 years. We know, that like us, you will be keen to acknowledge his contribution and say your goodbyes, we are grateful to have time for this as he will be with us for a further 9 months. We will now be working with our Council and trustees to find a suitable successor.”
