House lights perform many tasks – including illuminating seating areas and enabling wayfinding, but we put other demands on our systems too- they also highlight the architectural features of the auditorium, such as the curtains, proscenium arch, boxes and decorative wall panels; they have a role in the safety systems and can even be part of the overall performance in the space. So, when eventually the day comes when they are worn out, too expensive to operate or maintain or just need a re-work - what should you do?
