What is the Automation Foundation Course ?

The Automation Foundation course is designed to introduce trainees to Automation in live entertainment, as a one-day course.  

What does the course cover?

The course will cover topics such as What is Theatrical Automation?  Where and why is it used?  Automation Possibilities and Limitations., Types and applications of Automation, Best practices and communications in Automation., Basic topology of Automation., Common system components., Fundamentals of control systems and control loops, Safety in the application of Automation, Automation team common operations.  

What will I be able to do at the end of the course?  

On successful completion of this award, you will be able to evidence an understanding of the key components and applications for Automation within Theatre and Live events and have an understanding of how Automation teams operate in a variety of applications. You will have the opportunity to access further training on the Silver Award for Automation. 

 Who can do the course?  

The Automation Foundation Course is open to any ABTT member or Non-member interested in working alongside or directly with Automation. This course suits any individuals or teams seeking an understand of what, how and why of Automation in Entertainment.  

How much does the course cost?

ABTT Members: £180+ VAT
Non-ABTT Members: £285 + VAT

How do I apply?

To apply for the course, simply take a look on our Training and Events Calendar to see when the next course is running. The application form will be available on that page and you will just need to fill it in and return to the ABTT Office via email. Please be aware that your course place will not be secured until full payment or purchase order has been received. 

Availability:

The ABTT Automation Foundation Course will run at various locations throughout the year.
