ABTT – Mental Health First Aider Champion Course

The MHFA England champion course is a day’s training to educate and inform people more on mental health and wellbeing.  It is recommend in particular to anyone that has responsibility for managing people.  The aim of the course is to educate and give people confidence in talking about and dealing with issues related to well being and mental health.

The great thing about this course is you can commit to attend and learn but don’t have the added responsibility of being a MHFaider.  In completing this course you have committed to learning more about mental health in the work place and being part of the change to reduce the stigma and create a culture where people can talk.

You will leave trained as a mental health champion but not a Mental health first aider.

This one day course trains you as an MHFA Champion, giving you:
– An understanding of common mental health issues
– Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness
– Ability to spot signs of mental ill health
– Skills to support positive well-being

Format
This course is available online as a 1 day session which will be delivered  for up to 12 candidates so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn. Or is available as a one day in-venue course delivered face-to-face for up to 16 candidates so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn. Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.

Takeaways
Everyone who completes the course gets:
– A certificate of attendance to say you are an MHFA Champion
– A manual to refer to whenever you need it
– A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan
– A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

– Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support

Non-member’s price £105+VAT

The ABTT also offers this online training as a whole online course for £1260+VAT for up to 12 candidates (group booking for a single date) or as  “in house” training at £1,260+VAT and trainer travel and accommodation if needed for up to 16 employees. In person training will be costed based on details supplied regarding location, attendee numbers etc.
