Job Description
Birmingham Rep is looking for a Wardrobe Manager for their Spring 2025 production of ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns” directed by Roxanna Silbert and design by Simon Kenny. https://www.birmingham-rep.co.uk/whats-on/a-thousand-splendid-suns/ this will be a new production with a cast of 9.
The Rep has an in-house Wardrobe department who work across all Rep productions and will be onsite to support the Wardrobe Manager. The Wardrobe Manager will be responsible for the day to day running, maintenance and documentation of the production. This role will report to the Rep’s permanent Head of Wardrobe. This production is anticipated to have a dressing team of 2 alongside the Wardrobe Manager. The show is likely to include some wigs and facial hair and therefore a candidate with some wigs experience would be ideal.
During the contract dates you will be required to abide by Birmingham Rep’s policies and procedures which will be supplied with the contract.
SPECIFICATIONS
• Support final stages of rehearsals, attend run throughs, produce dressing plots
• Oversee the setting up of Quick Change areas, labelling of costume and shoes etc
• Take overall responsibility for all costume requirements during performances
• Manage the dressing team
• Schedule and manage laundry and maintenance calls
• Manage repairs and replacement purchasing
• Produce and maintain the costume bible
• Respond to understudy requirements
• Following final performance ensure the costumes are cleaned, stored and documented ready to go to storage

Contract Dates 31st March – 15th June 2025
All fees are in line with BECTU/UK Theatre Sub Rep Agreement.
Fee: £850 buy out per week + Equity subsistence for Birmingham and Touring Allowance for Nottingham and Leeds per week; to be invoiced to the Rep
Buy out fee is based on an average of 48 hours a week worked over the duration of the contract.
