RWCMD also operates as an arts centre holding over 500 public performances and events each year, regular masterclasses from international artists, and performances, exhibitions and tours in Wales, London and overseas. The opportunities for students studying at RWCMD are endless.
Based in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, the city has been declared the UK’s first Music City and is also one of the largest and most successful creative centres outside of London. The city is home to broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV and S4C; production companies such as Bad Wolf and Wild Creations, and also two major orchestras, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the orchestra of Welsh National Opera. The College is perfectly located in this thriving city to collaborate with all these major creative organisations to enable our students to gain invaluable experiences of real working conditions, and vital contacts within industry.
Training Courses
Stage Management and Technical Theatre
Our extensive training combines core technical skills, sound and lighting design, video, construction etc. and the full range of stage management skills, whilst focusing on your chosen specialism.
Your training is tailored to your individual interests and career goals through production work, as you gain a broad practical experience in a range of technical and production roles. We treat you as a professional from day one. You’ll be working as our resident stage management team to produce professional standard productions in College and on external placements.
