The Theatres Trust is the National Advisory Public Body for Theatres. The Trust aims to protect theatres on behalf of the nation. We provide advice on planning, regeneration and development, architecture and design, environmental services, conservation and heritage, and theatre. We aim to support better planning to secure, improve and achieve sustainability for new and existing theatre buildings and to protect theatre use. Our aim is to ensure that current and future generations have access to good quality theatres that reflect our rich cultural heritage and offer inspiring new environments in which to enjoy theatre. www.theatrestrust.org.uk
Our Resource Centre houses provides a dedicated space to access our Theatre Archives and Reference Library which includes plans and other documents as well as both our 500-strong book collection and the ABTT Library, reference magazines and our Image Library with some 30,000 images. There is a dedicated reading table and Internet facilities and the Resource Centre Library is open by appointment. It also provides dedicated Meeting Room space comes fully equipped with audio-visual facilities and wi-fi access. The Resource Centre can be hired for meetings,training events, workshops, and seminars and is conveniently located just two minutes from Leicester Square Tube on the Northern and Piccadilly Lines.

The Trust is delivering a 3 year project funded by the European Regional Development Fund to provide 48 London theatres with advice to improve their environmental performance and develop a Display Energy Certificate Pool of theatres across the UK.
