Quarantine exemption for performers and cultural professionals – England
21 September 2021
Performing arts professionals will be able to request exemption from self-isolation again when travelling to England or returning from abroad. This exemption will only apply to individuals who attend a professional performing arts event for which they are being paid that would be critically affected by having to self-isolate.
The scheme will only apply to England at the moment – discussions are ongoing between DCMS and the other devolved administrations regarding the situation in Scotland, Wales and NI – and is open to all professional performers in all art-forms that the Arts Council supports. The Arts Council will be assessing applications on behalf of DCMS, and the application guidance can be found on their website.
The scheme will officially re-open on the morning of 22 September.
