Update for restrictions during during the 4-week National Lockdown
3 November 2020
We have now been given confirmation regarding rehearsal and pre-production activities for performing arts during the 4-week period of National Restrictions coming up in England. Please find details below.
Venues / rehearsal spaces / workshops are considered places of work and therefore people can come into them if the work cannot be undertaken from home. This includes rehearsals and filming / streaming but NO audience is permitted for any activity. The formal regulations confirm this position.
You will also be aware that the introduction of the Job Support Scheme has also been paused, with the Job Retention Scheme (the “furlough” scheme) continuing for November – details as know are here.
The Self Employed Scheme (SEISS) has also had a small uplift with 80% of average trading profits being paid in November, and then reverting to the previously announced 40% for December and January – this increases the overall total level for this upcoming grant to 55% of trading profits. Those eligible will now be able to claim from the end of November. Note there has been no movement on those who have previously been ineligible for a SEISS grant. Details as announced are here.
We will keep you updated as more information on all of these elements becomes available.
